Single Stream Recycling
Have you heard the BIG news? Crawford County has gone to single stream recycling!! What is that you ask? It’s an even easier way to recycle and reduce your homes carbon footprint!! Single stream means that you can recycle these items by just placing them into a provided recycling hopper at locations around Crawford County!
Things you can RECYCLE in a single stream recycling hopper:
- Cartons: All except egg and ice cream cartons – remove any caps and straws
- Glass Bottles and Jars: Any color glass – lids attached are ok
- Paper: All paper items – magazines, junk mail, newspapers, all cardboard (broken down) ex: cereal boxes, packaging boxes, pizza boxes (non-greasy and no food scraps)
- Plastic: Bottles, jugs, tubs and cups – reattached lids are ok (rinse when needed)
- Metal Cans: Soda and soup cans – still rinse your soup cans
Things to NOT put into a single stream recycling hopper:
- Trash
- Batteries
- Plastic shopping bags
- Clothing
- Pots and pans
- Scrap metal
- Plastic silverware
